We reviewed some health sites and
these three were chosen because of their factual information, ease of use and
lack of numerous ads plastered all over the site.
1. www.Healthfinder.gov This site is easy to search. It has a library of
health
information from government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and
universities. They even
have a section that helps you make health choices such as
getting backgrounds on health care providers, ratings of hospitals and
nursing
homes. There are guides for
health insurance, on how to report fraud or make a
complaint.
2. www.MayoClinic.com On this site you will find all kinds of health
information from flu vaccines to hair
loss. You can even sign up to
receive weekly
e-mail
updates with timely health information.
There’s a Personal Health Scorecard
as well as a Healthy Lifestyle Planner. The Mayo Foundation for Medical
Education and Research owns this site.
3. www.Medlineplus.gov This site has sections on Current Health News,
information on brand and generic drugs, and clinical research studies. You can even
search this site in Spanish. This site is from the National Library of Medicine,
National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services.
